This is our 3rd project in our Civil Engineering Projects - a free monthly project series. In this project, you will learn,
  1. What is a web app and how do it work?
  2. Understanding the basic structure and architecture of a Web App (frontend and backend)?
  3. How can you build a simple web app for evaluating and drawing shear force and bending moment diagrams of a propped cantilever beam with flexible spring support (as shown in the below image) using Python flask and OpenSeesPy?

This project comes in 3 parts,

Part 1 - In this part, you will learn to develop a simple web app that evaluates the intersection point for two given straight lines. This part is designed to introduce you the basic structure and architecture of a Python Flask based web app from scratch.

Part 2 - In this part, you will learn to develop the main web app of this project, that is the web app that will evaluate and display the shear force and bending moment diagrams of a propped cantilever beam with flexible spring supports.

Part 3 - In this part, you will learn to apply CSS stylings to beautify the web app created in part 2 using Bootstrap frontend framework.

Check out the below project introduction video for more information.

The knowledge you will get in this project will be invaluable as you work towards your placements. Furthermore, the skills and knowledge gained from this project may also help you choose better projects for your mini and major projects for your graduate and undergraduate studies.

See you in the project.
